video tutorial Soft Eyes with Coral Lips for Prom Makeup Tutorial
Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10:13PM Back with another video tutorial! I wanted to get one more Prom tutorial out before summer. This look is very age appropriate, but still has enough glam I think. My model is another gorgeous niece of mine Baylee. Baylee is almost 14 years old and she is quite the beauty. I have a few more videos that we filmed one afternoon and I will put them up over the next few weeks. But for now, enjoy this one :) List of products below.

Isn't she absolutely gorgeous?!? I know right!

Products used:

video tutorial My Favorite Products From MAC
Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10:26AM This post was meant to be a video, but the weather has been dark and rainy this week which means I can't really film as I use natural sunlight as my lighting. I totally need to buy some actual lights so that I can film whenever I want to. Hopefully soon. But I thought I would go ahead and just make it a blog post then with photos.
Now that I have spent a year getting to know and purchasing a lot of MAC products I get asked all the time "What do you buy at MAC?" and "What are your favorite products?". There are still SOOO many products I have yet to try but the ones I have tried I'm able to make really good judgements on now. Just an FYI: as a licensed professional I am a MACPro member so I get a discount. That is why I have bought so much MAC this last year :)
This post is going to be heavily photo loaded, so just a warning. I tried to just do photos of the stuff I use the most or are my absolute favorites. I also didn't do a swatch of everything either in order to try and keep it to a minimum.
First photo is of 99% of my entire MAC collection. A couple of things I have multiples of or didn't bother to put in the photo.

I have a lot of eyeshadows in my Z palette, 2 double features, a bunch of individual pots plus some pigments.
Here is a photo of my 99% of my eyeshadows.

MAC's eyeshadows are my favorite thing to buy from them. I have a good mix of limited edition and permanent collection ones. MAC's eyeshadows are absolutely awesome and some of the best out there. My 3 favorite eyeshadows are Woodwinked, Jest and Club and they are in that order in the photos below. (This was so hard to choose just 3 as there are SO many I love and still have yet to try.)

Swatches:
Woodwinked is a gorgeous kind of antique golden color. It is so versatile and blends like a dream. Looks great on every eye color and skin tone I have tried it on so far. Great for every day wear, or night wear.

Jest is a pearly soft pink. Looks lovely on brides or as a highlight for darker skin tones. Great for everyday wear as well.
Club is one of those really fun duo chrome colors. It looks green in the pan but then in some lights it looks reddish brown. I LOVE doing smoky eyes with this color. Looks awesome over a black base too.
MAC Pigments are super fun and I'm really getting into those lately. So far I have 6 of them. Their glitters are considered pigments, they call them Reflects. So my 2 favorites of the ones I have are Naked, and Reflects Pearl.
Pictures really do not do the pigments justice. They are so beautiful and the color payoff is awesome! The Reflects glitter is just so fine and light. Pigments are Pro products unfortunately, but I'm sure you can find them on eBay or something.
Left Naked Pigment, Right is Reflects Pearl glitter

Naked is a very neutral golden beige color. It actually has tiny gold glitter and shimmer in it. Reflects Pearl is a pearly glitter that adds amazing sparkle to any look.

Swatches: Left is Reflects Pearl and Right is Naked. Pics just do not even come close to doing these justice, but I tried.

The other MAC eye makeup product I have is a kohl pencil in the color Teddy.

Teddy is a dark golden brown color. It is a staple in my kit now. Very great for everyday use and also I've used it on a few brides. It blends beautifully and it soft with terrific color payoff. Safe for the waterline as well.

Swatch:

MAC brushes are some of the best you can find, but they are pretty pricey. But I do believe in getting what you pay for. Most of the MAC brushes have been duped pretty much perfectly by Sigma and are much more affordable. But there are 2 brushes from MAC I have yet to find their equal and so I own them and LOVE them.

The MAC 239 and 266. Both are eye brushes. The 239 is the white flat shader brush, perfect for packing on color to the lids and because it is stiff (but still very soft) you can do other things and blend with it. The 266 can be used for eyebrows, but I use it to line the lashlines with eyeshadow, gel liner or even pencil liners with.
Moving on with MAC's Mineralize Skin Finishes. I LOVE LOVE MSFs! I only have these 3 and they are limited edition ones. They add such a gorgeous glow to the skin any where you place them. I use them strictly as highlights for cheekbones, browbones, inner corner of eyes and cupids bow (top lip). Sorry no swatches :( so many photos in the post already ha ha!

The photo below are blushers. I have 4 total from MAC but only photographed these 2.

These are both limited edition ones (and again no swatches I apologize) but MAC produces excellent blushers. They have such a wide range to choose from and they are soft with really good pigmentation and color payoff.
Last but not least are the lip products I own from MAC. I only have 4 lip glosses (or lip glass as MAC calls them) and the are limited edition, I'm sorry. But I can say that I am a fan of MAC's lip glosses. They have awesome color payoff and are true to what you see in the tubes. They are a bit on the sticky side so keep that in mind if that is something that bothers you.

I have several MAC lipsticks. They are the elite when it comes to lipstick for me. So creamy and so pigmented, and they are long lasting too! I have about 8 (I think) lipsticks.
In the photo below are my 2 favorites, MAC Red and Girl About Town.

Swatches: Left is MAC Red and Right is Girl About Town. I like bold lip colors :)

So that is it for now. This was fun and I hope it was helpful and not too long ha ha! Please let me know if you have any questions!
